“YAEL DANON IS A PANAMA-BORN PRODIGY”

— LADYGUNN

Yael Danon is a Panamanian artist with a voice that’s hard to place and a Middle Eastern edge running through everything she makes. She folds world music into hip hop and rock, crafting a new sound that doesn’t fit neatly in any one genre. For fans of Remi Wolf, Noga Erez, and Willow.

Her debut album, Diary Girl, came out when she was 15, with production from Tommy Torres among others. Since then she has opened for Sebastián Yatra in Panama and Ravyn Lenae and Alesso at Yardfest, performed at the Sanremo Festival, and played the Berklee Performance Center, Sanders Theatre, and Harvard Yard.

“Like Portman on the big screen, Danon feels wise beyond her years.”

— Beats Per Minute

Three songs are out: Evil Eye, YAPIYAPI, and Done Pretending. Together, they already say who she is, and the rest of the album is still to come. Whatever she releases next, you’ll want to have been listening from the start.
